Fern O. Oglesby

  Fern O. Oglesby, 99, of McLeansboro, Illinois passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 5:35 a.m. at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi, Illinois.
 

 Fern was born March 23, 1917 in Hamilton County, Illinois to Roy and Mary (Armes) O'Neal.  She married Clarence Oglesby on October 7, 1939.  He preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother; John William O'Neal, one daughter; Rhonda Sue Oglesby, and one great-grand daughter; Audrey Jacobs.  

 She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Oglesby of McLeansboro, two grandchildren, Amy Jacobs of McLeansboro, and Bryan Jacobs of McLeansboro, and one great-grandchild, Jayla Gholson of McLeansboro.
 

She worked as a secretary at Trade Industries in McLeansboro and was also a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Rev. Mike Fields will officiate.  Visitation will be from 12:00 till the time of service at Gholson Funeral Home.
