William "Bill" Russell Jr.

William "Bill" Russell Jr., 79, of Broughton, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at his home.

He was born November 23, 1936, in Chicago, to William Randolph Hearst and Dorothy Helen (Young) Russell.  He married Janice Kay Wilmore on December 31, 1992, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Russell is survived by a son, Robert "Bobby" (Amber) Raudenbush of Broughton; one daughter, Jenny (Adam) Pruitt of Broughton; two brothers, Terry Russell of Roselle, Jimmy Russell of Marengo; one sister, Donna Russell of Carol Stream; two grandchildren, William Joseph "Billy" Pruitt of Broughton and Sean Michael Pruitt of Broughton.

Mr. Russell served in the United States Coast Guard retiring as a Chief.  He was a protestant by faith.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with Rev. David Angelly officiating.  Full military rites will be conducted by the McLeansboro American Legion Post 106.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
