Zelda Leona Vickers, age 89, a resident of McLeansboro, IL passed away at 2:30 pm on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 at the Hamilton Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro.
She worked at the former Elder Manufacturing Company in McLeansboro, she worked for several years as a cook at the Enfield Nursing Home, and she was a homemaker. She was also a member of Lick Creek Church.
Survivors include a son Rick (wife Pat) Vickers of Broughton, IL; 2 daughters: Vickie (husband James) Childers of McLeansboro, IL & Pat (husband Brian) Neal of Benton, IL; 7 grandchildren: Shannon Childers, Shane (wife Candace) Childers, Chase Vickers, Nathan (wife Jennifer) Vickers, Uel (wife Chrissy) Vickers, Jay (wife Jayne Ann) Neal, Byron (wife Tabitha) Neal, 12 great grandchildren: Cody & Jake Strumpher, Zach & Blake Childers, Canden Vickers, Grant Vickers, Haystin & Henley Vickers, Jayden & Jaxon Neal, and Sean & Seth Neal, and 1 great great grandchild Raylan Strumpher.
She was preceded in death by her husband Uel Lofton Vickers, an infant daughter Carolyn Sue Vickers, both parents David & Uria (Tyler) Webb, 2 brothers: Charles R. Webb & Nuel Webb, and 2 sisters: Lillie Wiggins & Ena Atwood.
Funeral services For Zelda Leona Vickers will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Brother George Biby officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm on Sunday at the Gholson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
