Nell M. Webb Irvin, 103, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
She was born October 23, 1915 in Dale, IL to Charles and Eva (Merrel) Edmonds. Nell was a retired seamstress having worked at the McLeansboro Shirt and Dress Factory and Elders Mfg. Company. She also attended the Dale Pentecost Church.
Nell is survived by her daughter, Anna Lee (John) Short of Broughton, IL; one grandson, Brad (Cynthia) Short of Broughton, IL; two great grandchildren, Braden (Danielle) Short of Norris City, IL and Hailey Short of Dale, IL. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters: Lanzel Edmonds, J.R. Edmonds, George Edmonds, Marie Cox and Georgetta Webb, all of McLeansboro, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Stanley A. Webb and Delmar Irvin; one grandson, Brent Short; one sister, Sibyl Gibbons; and one brother, Allen Edmonds.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jacob Gray officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 1, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. She will be laid to rest at the Digby Hill Cemetery in Dale, IL.
