Norma Jean Ricketts

Norma Jean Ricketts, 62, a resident of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL.

She was born November 26, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to John Edward and Barbara (Lowerly) Kelley.  Norma was a home maker and also worked with her husband in the landscaping business.  She was also a member of the DeSoto Baptist Church.

Norma is survived by her husband, Jimmy Ricketts of Murphysboro, IL; sons, Jimmy Lee Ricketts, Johnny Ricketts, Jeremy Ricketts and Anthony Ricketts, all of Murphysboro, IL; daughter, Jeannie (Frank) Smith of Murphysboro, IL; and brothers, Rodney Kelley of Georgia, Raymond Kelley of Arkansas and Gary Kelley of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.  Also surviving are special close friends and relative, Lisa, John and John Jackson Jr. of DeSoto, IL and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son, James Lee Ricketts; and one infant daughter, Rosalee Ricketts.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Visitation will be held Satuday, September, 22 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  She will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery in McLeansboro.  Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
