Albert Thomas Anselment, 93, of Dahlgren, IL passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL. Albert was born on January 5, 1933, the son of Albert Peter & Aurelia (Roesch) Anselment. On July 4th, 1960 in Piopolis, IL he married Patricia (Aydt) Anselment, who survives.
Albert was a proud Korean War Veteran, having served his country in the United States Navy. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Albert is survived by 6 sisters: Delores Anselment, Marcella Heath, Cleo Rapp, Rita Grubb, Mary Rawls, and Sharon Rapp, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert & Aurelia, his father-in-law & mother-in-law Paul & Johanna Aydt, his sister Bernadine Spencer, and 5 brothers: Anton Anselment, Paul Anselment, David Anselment, William Anselment, and Edward Anselment.
Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL. At 10:00 a.m. a Recitation of The Rosary ceremony will be held, immediately followed by the funeral mass with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating.
Interment will follow the funeral mass at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery in Dahlgren, IL with graveside military honors provided by the Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Albert’s memory may be made to “St. John Nepomucene Cemetery” and will be accepted at the services at the church, or at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL.
