Betty Lou (Irvin) Trotter, 92, of Belle Rive, IL passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL. Betty was born August 18, 1932, the daughter of Albert & Flossie Irvin. On July 20, 1950 she married Bill Trotter, who preceded her in death.
Betty was a homemaker and she enjoyed life. She was a member of the Dahlgren Baptist Church in Dahlgren, IL. She loved her flowers, quilting, and or course cooking.
Betty is survived by a son David Trotter & wife Carolyn of Belle Rive, IL; one daughter Diane(Trotter) Haile & husband Marion of Bethany, IL; 7 grandchildren: Mark Trotter, Sarah Parker, John Trotter, Amy Fultz, Amanda Nave, Dustin Haile, and Amber Davis; 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, a brother Wayne Irvin of Momence, IL; 2 sisters-in-law: Kathryn Irvin and June Irvin of Belle Rive; and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Flossie (Harvill) Irvin, her father Albert Irvin, her stepmother Ruth (Brooks) Irvin, her husband Bill Trotter, a daughter Nancy Davis, a grandson Billie Davis, and 2 brothers: Charlie Irvin and Howard Irvin.
Funeral services for Betty Lou (Irvin) Trotter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL with Pastor Dustin Haile and Pastor Nyhl Irvin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Interment will follow the funeral service on Thursday at Lowry Hill Cemetery in Belle Rive, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lowry Hill Cemetery Fund, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home, or by mailing them to Lowry Hill Trustees, 1800 North Ina Lane, Belle Rive, IL 62810.
