Brenda Sue (Ackley) Savage

Brenda Sue (Ackley) Savage, 61, of Belle Rive, IL passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at her home in Belle Rive.  Brenda was born on September 9, 1963 in Mt. Vernon, IL to Wesley & Sue Ann Ackley.  On June 30, 1994 she married Russell Savage, who survives.  They were blessed with 30 years of marriage.

Brenda worked in the Home Health Care field for most of her career, and also had worked at Wal-Mart until health issues prevented her from continuing to work.  She was a member of the Dahlgren Baptist Church in Dahlgren for 30 years.

She collected American Indian dolls and M&M figurines.  She loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.

Brenda is survived by her husband Russell Savage, her children: Justin Willet, Michael Willet, Melissa Aaron, Jessie Ackley, and Travis Ackley; her step children: James Savage, Jason Savage, and Jessica Conrad; several grandchildren; her siblings: Debra (Gary) Odell, Allan Ackley, Carrie Ackley, Clifford Ackley, Desiree (Larry) Jackson, Chris (Chrisy) Dobbs, and Shawn Dobbs.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley & Sue Ann Ackley, a brother Leon Wayne Ackley, and a sister Ruth Ann Ackley.

Funeral services for Brenda Sue (Ackley) Savage will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL with Pastor Brad Sloan officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to assist the Savage family with final expenses may be made to the care of Russell Savage, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren or McLeansboro.
