Carl Stanton Digby

Carl Stanton Digby, 76, of McLeansboro, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

He was born in Eldorado, IL on May 17, 1946, the son of Walter William Digby and Edith Jane (Ledbetter) Digby.  On September 18, 1976, Carl married Jeanne (Rowe) Digby, who survives.

Carl worked for 45 years in carpentry and as a carpet installer.  He was a lifetime member of the McLeansboro Eagles Aerie #2699. He loved fishing, model trains and villages, and old country music.  A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Carl was always ornery but could make anyone smile or laugh at any time.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Digby, son Carl Lloyd, daughter Patricia Digby, six grandchildren: Chasity (Dalton) Phillips, Taylor Digby, Dakota Digby, Shawn (Brandee) Braden, Carl Ray Digby and Robert Digby, and four great granddaughters: Leslie, Myra, Charleigh, and Willow.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one great granddaughter.

Visitation for Carl Digby will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  After the services, cremation rites will be accorded per Carl’s wishes.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
