Christina Dohn Buckner

Christina Dohn Buckner, 48, of Carmi, IL passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Southern Residential Alternatives, Inc. Carmi House.  Christina was born on August 25, 1976 in McLeansboro, IL to Charles & Betty Buckner.

Christina had previously worked at Trade Industries in McLeansboro.  She loved music and going to concerts with her dad.  She also loved cats.  Christina will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

She is survived by 3 aunts: Carolyn Draper of McLeansboro, IL; Barbara (Mike) Simmons of Wayne City, IL and Nancy Wheeler of Mt. Morris, IL; 2 uncles: Nick Wheeler of McLeansboro and Wade (Barbara) Wheeler of McLeansboro, and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles & Betty Buckner, maternal grandparents Ralph & Maude Wheeler, paternal grandparents Buck & Nellie Buckner, and 2 uncles: Gary Wheeler and Richard Wheeler.

Funeral services for Christina Dohn Buckner will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Brad Sloan officiating.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Interment will take place at a later date at New Prospect Cemetery in Broughton, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the City of McLeansboro (write Animal Shelter on subject line) and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
