Christine Downen Obituary

Christine Veronica (Backus) Downen, 81, of Mt. Vernon, IL passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.

She was born on January 31, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to her parents George Backus and Veronica (Byk) Backus, who both preceded her in death.

On November 10, 2020 she married John Edward Downen, who survives. Christine was of the Catholic faith and worked as a secretary.

There will be no formal services at this time.
