Cleveland Andrew “Cleve” Hardesty, 92, of Centralia, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Fireside House in Centralia. Cleve entered into this world on October 18, 1930 in Broughton, IL, the son of Elmer and Lou Ella (Taylor) Hardesty.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. Cleve was a member of the Centralia Masonic Lodge #201 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a retired equipment operator for the City of Centralia. Fishing and bird hunting were his favorite pastimes.
Cleve leaves behind a daughter Karen, and husband Mickey Martin, and a son Terry, and wife Patty Hardesty. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley Ann (Bates) Hardesty, and son Carmen Hardesty.
Per his wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
