Devin Matthew Tarrence

Devin Matthew Tarrence, 39, of McLeansboro, IL passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Devin was born June 9, 1983 in Bakersfield, CA to his parents Alan D. & Tammy (Trusty) Tarrence.  On July 7, 2007 he married Amy (Parker) Tarrence, who survives.

Devin worked for many years as a roughneck at Geo Mitchell Drilling of Carmi, IL and had recently started working for Champion Laboratories of Albion, IL.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors, shooting, atv riding, kayaking, fishing, and listening to music (loudly).  Devin had a big heart and always tried to help people in need.  He was a loving father, husband, brother, son, and son-in-law.  He loved spending time with his family and picking on his nieces & nephews.

Devin is survived by his wife Amy (Parker) Tarrence and his daughter Tammy Tarrence of McLeansboro, IL; his father Alan D. Tarrence of Dale, IL; 2 sisters: Tonya (Amber) Tarrence of West Frankfort, IL and Matia Tarrence of Benton, IL; several nieces & nephews, 1 great nephew, 2 sisters-in-law: Angela (Bradley) Smith of McLeansboro and Amanda (Terry) Blumenstock of Pittsburg, IL; and a brother-in-law Allen “Dusty” (Molly) Parker of McLeansboro.

He was preceded in death by his mother Tammy (Trusty) Tarrence, and both maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services for Devin Matthew Tarrence will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service at 12 noon.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Smith Cemetery near Dale, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with final expenses and may be made to Gholson Funeral Home.
