Donald Dale Barnett Sr.

Donald Dale Barnett Sr., 75, a resident of Opdyke, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 in Ridgway, Illinois.

He was born March 16, 1943 in Salem, IL to Neil and Evelyn (Cook) Barnett.  Donald was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War.  A retired farmer and truck driver, he was a member of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post 141 and the Lebanon Baptist Church.

Donald is survived by his son, Donald (Casey) Barnett Jr. of Ridgway, IL; two grandchildren, Skyler Dale Barnett and Olivia Jane Barnett; and one brother, John (Patricia) Cook of Belle Rive, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Cynthia Jane Barnett.

Funeral services for Donald Barnett Sr. will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lebanon Baptist Church near Mt. Vernon with Rev. Travis Hayes officiating.  Visitation will be held Monday, October 1 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Lebanon Baptist Church.  He will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery near Dahlgren.
