Doris E. Hill

Doris E. Hill, 92, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at her home in McLeansboro, Illinois.

She was born September 26, 1927 in McLeansboro, IL, to Arthur and Arilla (Brill) Hale.  Doris married Richard Vernon Hill on July 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death.  Doris was a devoted member of the Oliver Bethel Methodist Church and also worked in the laundry department at Hamilton Memorial Hospital for 20 years.

Doris is survived by two sons: Donald R. (Sharry) Hill of McLeansboro and Michael (Montie) Hill of McLeansboro; five grandchildren: Lori (Jason) Irvin, Jennifer Devoy, Abby Reynolds, and Hannah Moore, all of McLeansboro, and Adam Hill of Priceville, KY.  Nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Eddie Hale, and sisters, Dorothy Jean Savage and Helen Clark.

Funeral services for Doris Hill will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. John Capps officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest at Hopewell Cemetery near McLeansboro.
