Doyle Edward Williams, 84, of Dale, IL passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Wabash Senior Living & Rehabilitation in Carmi, IL. Doyle was born on December 20, 1941 at Bungay, IL to Claude & Frances (Wiggins) Williams. On July 16, 1960 he married Annabelle (Hutcheson) Williams, who preceded him in death.
He owned & operated Doyle Williams Salvage in Dale for several years, and had previously worked as a farmer and worked in the timber industry. He enjoyed fishing, and driving around in search of interesting items for sale. He had a great sense of humor, and he loved to laugh. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Doyle is survived by his son D.J. Williams, his daughter Karen Edwards, 6 grandchildren: Travis Lakin, Troy Lakin, Crystal Cox, Corissa Cox, Alex Edwards, and Monica Brand; 7 great-grandchildren: Zach Lakin, Mason Lakin, Katie Lakin, Charley Burton, Callan Cox, Frankie Edwards, and Ellie Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his parents Claude & Frances Williams, his wife Annabelle Williams, his daughter Maria Brand, 2 grandsons: Gabriel Lakin and Elliott Hielman, his brother Charles Williams, and his sister Velma Hutchison.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL. At 2:00 p.m., everyone will be dismissed to follow the funeral procession to the graveside service at Digby Cemetery in Dale, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with final expenses, and may be made to “Gholson Funeral Home” and will be accepted at the funeral home.
