Earl Henry Wellen, 81, of Belle Prairie City, IL passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his home. Earl was born on August 16, 1943 in Piopolis, IL to Henry & Mary Wellen.
Earl was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis.
Earl was retired, and used to work at Baldwin Manufacturing in McLeansboro, IL.
He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and swimming.
Earl is survived by 2 brothers: John J. Wellen & wife Minne of Belle Prairie City and Frank Wellen & wife Sharon of Broughton, IL; 10 nieces & nephews, several cousins, and several great-nieces & great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Mary Wellen, 3 brothers: Donnie Wellen, Joe Wellen, and Matt Wellen; and 3 sisters: Dorothy Horn, Mary Elizabeth Rapp, and Eileen Wellen.
A funeral mass for Earl Henry Wellen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL with Fr. Gregory Ogbenika officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will immediately follow the funeral mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Piopolis.
