Eula Nadine Newlin

Eula Nadine Newlin, 86, a resident of Carmi, Illinois and formerly of Hamilton County, IL, passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.

She was born July 13, 1934 in Crook Township, Hamilton County, IL to James and Aileen (Henderson) Riley.  Nadine married Jack Robert Newlin on November 21, 1953 and he preceded her in death. She worked in retail for many years in Carmi and was an active member of Carmi VFW Post 3851 and American Legion Auxiliary Post 224.  Nadine enjoyed dancing, playing Bingo, social activities and spending time with family and friends.

Nadine is survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Paula (Benny) Smith of Cook Station, MO, Dennis (Cynthia) Erkmann of The Villages, FL, James (Mary Lynn) Erkmann of McLeansboro, IL, Kitty Newlin, Wolfgang Trebuth Newlin, Mike Newlin, Ronnie Newlin, Mark Newlin, Isabelle Newlin, Rosella Newlin, Therese Green, Kathy Stach, Rick Newlin, Jim Newlin, Mike Newlin, Shane Hall, Douglas Adams, Cheryl Ammon, JoAnn Ammon, Crystal Wissman and Anna Dobson; great niece Megan Erkmann and great-great niece Denver Erkmann, both of Eldorado, IL; six brothers-in-law: Everett Newlin, Ralph Newlin, Billie Newlin, John Newlin, Russ Newlin and Jerry Newlin; and two sisters-in-law: Patricia Adams of St. Francisville, IL and Dorotha Ann Lemeron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Pearl Faye Erkmann.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Mike Fields offciating.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 20 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  She will be laid to rest at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.  Memorial donations may be made to Wabash Christian Village and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
