Gordon E. Russell

Gordon E. Russell, 85, a resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

Born January 14, 1935 in McLeansboro, he was son of the late Earl E. and Elsie (Lane) Russell.  Gordon worked as a farm hand and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing.  

He is survived by his brother, Frank (Patricia) Russell of Forest City, IL; sisters: Wanda (Delmar) Taylor of Mt. Vernon, IL and Marietta (Kelly) Manring of Pocahontas, IL.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clayton Russell; sisters: Norma and husband Gilber Watt, Roberta and husband Harrison McMahon; and half brother Eugene and wife Virgin Russell.

Private graveside memorial services will be held June 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Smith Cemetery near Dale, IL with Rev. Robert Abbott officiating.
