Gregory Ray Webb

Gregory “Greg” Ray Webb, 65, of Norris City, IL passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home in Norris City.  Greg was born on October 16, 1957 the son of Coy & Verna Webb.  On April 17, 1992 he married Linda Louise (Durbin) Webb, who survives.

Greg worked in the oil fields for over 47 years.  He was a certified firearms instructor and taught concealed carry classes at the Carmi Gun Club.  He loved fishing, gardening, and leather working.  He was a Green Bay Packers football fan, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, long distance cycling, playing bass and acoustic guitar, and previously was active in martial arts, having earned his black belt.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his great grandbaby.

Greg is survived by his father Coy R. Webb of McLeanboro, IL; his wife Linda Webb of Norris City, 2 daughters: Heather Mitchell and Kristel Stilley, both of McLeansboro; 2 step-sons: Patrick (Kim) Durbin of McLeansboro and William “Willie” Moore of Edwardsville, IL; 8 grandchildren: Zoey Mitchell, Jagger Mitchell, Tysen Mitchell, Haylee (Dakota) Lowery, Colten Stilley, Brooklin Durbin, Paisley Durbin, and Grady Durbin; one great-grandchild Sawyer Lowery, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Verna Dean Webb.

Funeral services for Gregory “Greg” Ray Webb will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Digby Hill Cemetery in Dale, IL.
