Kathy Lea Cannon, 65, of McLeansboro, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on April 30, 1958 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Uriah and Della “Sally” (Lakin) Mansell.
Kathy worked as a laborer, doing construction work. She loved people and was known for her infectious smile and quick wit.
Kathy is survived by her sister: Paula (Kelly) Karcher, two sons: Jason and Jarrod Cannon, cherished grandson: Gage Cannon, daughter-in-law: Wendy Cannon, three nephews: Kirk Skelton, Kyle (Becky) Skelton, Kelby (Mara) Karcher, and 4 other grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry Cannon, step-son Scotty Cannon, brother Darrell Mansell, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services for Kathy Cannon will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Christian Chapel Church in McLeansboro with Pastor Allen Spangler officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon at the church. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Cartwright Cemetery southwest of McLeansboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family with final expenses. Memorial donations will be accepted at the church or at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
