Larry Floyd Heil, 76, of Norris City, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Deaconess Henderson Hospital in Henderson, KY. He was born May 22, 1948 in Pekin, IL to Floyd & Ruie Heil.
Larry was a United States Marine Corps Veteran having served as a missile technician while stationed in Panama during the Vietnam War. He later worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Caterpillar and for Appell Equipment in Galva, IL for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and traveling around the country. Larry was a devoted grandfather who deeply enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by daughter Cynthia Wilmot, and husband Justin, of Newfane, Vermont, son John Heil of McLeansboro, daughter Janey Larue, and husband Corey, of Knoxville, TN, daughter Ashley Heil of Norris City, brother Steven Heil, and wife Debbie, of Enfield, brother Garry Heil, and wife Karla, of McLeansboro, sister Sharon Shay, and husband Jerry, of McLeansboro, sister Lola Healy, and husband David, of Norris City, and sister Darlene Randolph, and husband Jeff, of Auburn, KY. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Ruie Heil, his sister Barbara Ann Heil, and his grandson Dalton McGill.
In accordance with Larry's wishes, his body will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
