Linda Kay Bowers

Linda Kay Bowers, 71, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at her home near McLeansboro, IL.

She was born February 4, 1949 in Kankakee, IL to Bennett “Bill” and Shirley (McLeary) Wright.  Linda was a member of Smith Church and worked as a union organizer for Service Employees International Union.  She was married to Jerry Bowers.

Linda is survived by her son, Brian and wife Nicole Bowers of McLeansboro; daughter, JoAnn and husband Aaron Musgrave of McLeansboro; seven grandchildren: Cody Lee, Rachael Lee, Chelsea Lee, Daniel Goss, Hunter Musgrave, Rebecca Bowers and Breanna Bowers; four great grandchildren: Raevyn Lee, Boe Lee, Rosslyn Lee and Kain Lee; brother, Michael Bennett of McLeansboro and sister, LouAnn Fox of South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Diane Hardin.

A private graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery near McLeansboro with Rev. Gerald “Andy” May officiating.
