On July 26, 2025, our beloved Mom, Nana, and friend, Linda Sue (Odle) Johnson, passed away.
Born September 17, 1962 in Hammond, Indiana to Densel & Thelma (Kirby) Odle, Linda lived a life full of love, kindness, and fun. She was known to many for her humor, generosity, and selflessness, but more than anything, her ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone she ran into. She was always loving and welcoming, and often times, her home was a safe haven to many.
In 1981, she married Rick Johnson and together, they raised a beautiful family. Linda was the amazing mother to Nicole Johnson Bowers (Bryan Houser), Rachel (Kevin) Kissner, Samantha Johnson, Aaron Johnson (Dakota Sullivan), and special bonus son, Jordon (Shelby) Spurlock. She took much pride in being “Aunt Linda” to her many special nieces and nephews.
While raising her children, Linda worked as a nurse. Later in life, she gave up nursing to become a full time Nana to her nine grandbabies, who were the “light of her world” – Shelby (Devin) Mattingly, Madilyn and Hayley Taylor; Carson and Graham Kissner; Jayden, Matthew and Elliott Johnson; and Ridley Johnson. Linda lived her life surrounded by family and friends as she cherished the uniqueness of each relationship.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Teresa Baker.
