Mary Ellen Stallings

Mary Ellen Stallings, 79, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.

She was born in McLeansboro, IL on January 30, 1940, the daughter of Harry Joseph and Thelma Marie (Nipper) Scott.  Mary was a home maker and a member of the Dale Pentecost Church.

Mary is survived by one son, Dennis Stallings of Flora, IL; two daughters: Sue Sullivan of McLeansboro, IL and Beverly Wilson of Bonnie, IL; two brothers: Harry Dale Scott of McLeansboro, IL and Charles T. Scott of Danvers, IL; two sisters: Leona Walters of Norris City, IL and Diane Price of Omaha, IL.  Ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest Stallings; one son, one daughter, three brothers, one sister and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Daniel Nalley and Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Mary will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
