Melvin Rubenacker Obituary

84-year-old Melvin L. Rubenacker of Mcleansboro, Illinois died Friday August 30, 12:10AM at his residence. He was a retired Farmer and oil field worker. He was born in Hamilton County to Antone and Caroline (Frey) Rubenacker on March 28, 1935. He was married to Jacquetta Hogard, Freda Sanders, and Mary Herminea Mathews who preceded him in death. He was a member of the BPOE (Elks) Lodge 1882 of Mcleansboro, Eagles Lodge 2699 of Mcleansboro, and the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 106 of Mcleansboro. He was a member of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church at Piopolis.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 4 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of St. Clements Catholic Church in Mcleansboro with Fr. Slawomir Ptak and MSGR Joseph Lawler will conduct mass. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3 from 6 to 8 at Gholson Funeral Home in Mcleansboro with a rosary service at 7pm at the funeral home. Mr. Rubenacker will be interred at St. Clements Catholic Cemetery in Mcleansboro, Illinois.

Melvin Rubenacker is survived by his son, Melvin L. Rubenacker, Jr. of Mcleansboro and his significant other Paula Buttry Lissak; his daughter, Sheila (David) Collecott of Warner, Queensland, Australia. A grand-daughter-in-law Kaitlyn Rubenacker and grandchildren, Josh (Alanna) Wilkerson, Amy Wilkerson and fiance Drew McDonald, Jennifer (Kyle) Darnell, and Stephanie Smith. Great-grandchildren: Lailah Rubenacker, Kaitlyon Winemiller, Zander Smith, Ciera Smith, and Mila Rubenacker. Also survived by a son-in-law, Tim Smith of Mcleansboro and a sister-in-law, Betty Rubenacker of Union Pier, Michigan. Survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, one stillborn son, one daughter Kathy Smith, one grandson Nathan Rubenacker and one great-grandson Braden Smith, Three brothers: Richard, Robert and Lee Rubenacker and also a sister Bernice Smith Peters.
