Peggy Sue Bell, 72, a resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.
She was born October 14, 1944 in Belle Rive, IL to Columbus James and Verdie Faye (King) Clark. She married Lindel Bell on December 9, 1962 and he preceded her in death. Peggy was a retired employee of Peoples National Bank and she was also a member of the Freedom Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
She is survived by one son, Randy Bell of McLeansboro; three grandchildren, Josie Bell, Jacob Bell, Dakota Baldwin; and one great grandchild, Lana Rose Bell. Also surviving are two brothers, Richard Clark of McLeansboro, Frank Clark of Dahlgren, and one sister, Catherine Spradlin of McLeansboro.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son; Wayne Bell, two brothers; Harold and Russell “Pete” Clark, and five sisters; Irene Kelly, Ethel Overbey, Julia Jones, Mary Denham and Doris Russell.
Funeral services for Peggy Sue Bell will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with the Rev. Ralph Wilton officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
