Philip Wayne Woods, 78, of Liberty, Texas and formerly of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, TX.
He was born October 23, 1940 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Michael J. and Celia (Ottens) Woods. Philip was a retired truck driver and also worked for Walmart for several years. He was a member of Christian Chapel Church and the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
Philip is survived by three daughters: Kimberly Granger of Liberty, TX, Mitzi Higgins of Abilene, KS and Becky Keen of Salina, KS; one brother, Jerry Woods of West Virginia; one sister, Patricia Hall of McLeansboro; and seventeen grandchildren, of which one grandson, Trevor Philip Woods, was raised by his grandparents. Several great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mattie Ruth (Bailey) Woods.
Formal services will be held at a later date under the direction of Gholson Funeral Home.
