Reta Diane (Munsell) Denny

Reta Diane Munsell Denny, 82, of Woodburn, KY passed away December 7, 2024 at her residence.

The McLeansboro, Illinois native was born January 19, 1942 to the late James Frederick and Diana Jane Vaughn Munsell. She was a 1960 graduate of McLeansboro High School.  She attended Bowling Green Technical College and was a Registered Medical Assistant and Audiology Technician for Drs. Moore and Salmons and later was an instructor at Draughon’s Junior College.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ermon Loyal Denny, Jr.; son, Dirk Ermon Denny; and infant daughter, Michelle. Reta was a member of First Christian Church in McLeansboro before attending the Dale Pentecostal Church. After moving to Kentucky she was an active member of Hillvue Heights Church in Bowling Green, KY. Reta was a very creative person as a musician, singer, and artist. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Reta’s survivors include her son, Craig Denny (Erin) of Woodburn, KY; grandchildren, Matthew Blake Denny (Wes Moran), Travis Loyal Denny (Katie), and Leah Michelle Denny (Vinnie Moreno); great-grandchildren, Arden Rose Denny, Kirk Alexander Moreno, Julia Moreno, and Aurora Moreno; sisters, Susan Webb (the late Mike) and Kathy Alexander (John); nieces and nephews, Justin Webb (Stacy), Ethan Webb (Molly), Tiffany Survant, Timothy Denny (Renee), Tara Rae Cox, Theron Goble, and JB Alexander (Maretta).

A graveside memorial service for Reta Diane Munsell Denny will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro, with Craig Denny officiating.  A visitation will be held prior to the graveside service on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
