Richard E. Neel Sr.

Richard E. Neel Sr., 83, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home in Poland, Indiana.

He was born September, 9, 1936 in McLeansboro, IL to Cecil and Stella (Gregory) Neel.  Richard was a retired United States Military Veteran having served thirty years in the United States Air Force and United States Army.

Richard is survived by his wife Emma Neel of Poland, IN; two sons: Richard E. (Kelly) Neel Jr. of Mooresville, IN and Cecil (Liz) Neel of Brewton, Alabama; three daughters: Sharon (Tony) Kujala of Phoenix, Arizona, Stella (Allen) Slayton of Poland, IN and Debbie (Brad) Steelman of Patoka, IN.  Twenty grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Kathy Porter; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Monroe officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  He will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery with full Graveside Military Honors performed by a United States Army Honors Team.
