Rosalee Tuggle

Rosalee Tuggle, 97, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

She was born November 15, 1923 in Hamilton County, IL to John Isaac and Lora Jane (Mayberry) Boyer.  Rosalee taught grammar school during World War II and worked at the former Elder Mfg. Company in McLeansboro and was a lifetime member of Brush Harbor Baptist Church near McLeansboro.  She married Villo Fred Tuggle on March 28, 1942 and from this union came one daughter Shirley M. (Tuggle) Ingram. He preceded her in death in July of 1968.  She later married Rev. George Lee Tuggle in February of 1969 and he passed away in January of 2012.

Rosalee is survived by her daughter Shirley M. Ingram of McLeansboro, IL; three grandchildren: Shannon and husband Darrell Braden, Sumer and husband Chris Schau and Tony and wife Shelly Ingram; six great grandchildren: Ashtynn Rae Braden, Jenna Paige and husband Eli Martin, Allyssa Mae Ingram, Avery Renee Ingram, Skyler Rene Schau and Ethan Schau;  two great-great grandsons: Gunner Chase Martin and Carter William Martin.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Villo and Rev. George Tuggle; brothers Herschel Mayberry and Milford Boyer; sisters-in-law Edna Mayberry, Lillian Mayberry and Roberta Boyer; and son-in-law Bill Ingram.

A private family funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Bill Hampton officiating.  Private family visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at the funeral home.  A public graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Brush Harbor Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
