Rosanna Delores (Kreher) Nice

Rosanna Delores (Kreher) Nice, 81, of Dahlgren, IL passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.  Rosanna was born on January 10, 1945 in Piopolis, IL to her parents Joseph & Gertrude (Birkner) Kreher.  On November 30, 1963 she married Larry Paul Nice who preceded her in death on November 18, 2021.

Rosanna had previously worked as the Assistant Manager for Dairy Queen in Mt. Vernon, IL.  She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren, a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society in Dahlgren, and most recently she attended the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis. She enjoyed reading, solving jigsaw puzzles, watching the Game Show Network, and babysitting her grandchildren.  For several years, she took care of her husband Larry while he battled health issues until his passing.

Rosanna is survived by her 4 children: Pamela (Curt) Smith, Rodney Nice, Charles Nice, and Beverly (Randy) Reyling; 6 grandchildren: Jacob (Nicole) Smith, Cale Smith (and Patrick Bachman); Rachael Nice (and Brandon Crawford), Michael Nice, Dillin Reyling, and Shelby Reyling; great-granddaughter Zoey McKibben; 3 sisters: Betty Rapp, Lucille Auten, and Dorothy (Mel) Heil; and brother Paul (Donna) Kreher.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Gertrude Kreher, and her siblings: Father Eugene Kreher; Sister Catherine Kaufman, OSU; Henry Kaufman, and Charles Kaufman.

Funeral services for Rosanna Delores (Kreher) Nice will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis, IL with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John Nepomucene Cemetery, and will be accepted at the church.
