Ruby Gladys (Irvin) Hall

Ruby Gladys (Irvin) Hall, 94, of McLeansboro, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

She was born July 31, 1928 in Thompsonville, IL, the daughter of William F. and Mary Alice Wormley.  On May 13, 1950, Ruby married Bert Davis Irvin, who preceded her in death.  She later married John Hall, who also preceded her in death.

Ruby was a homemaker and seamstress.  She also worked at Irvin Jewelry in McLeansboro alongside her husband, Bert.  Ruby had the gift of song, and she loved to sing.  She was a member of the Dale Pentecost Church.  Her church and her family were the most important things in her life.

She is survived by her son: Bert Glenn (Rebecca) Irvin of Broughton; two daughters: Patricia (Rick) Vickers of Broughton and Debra (Larry) Manning of Belle Rive; eight grandchildren: Chase (Michelle) Vickers, Nathan (Jennifer) Vickers, Uel (Chrissy) Vickers, Steven (Emily) Manning, Mary (Brandon) Minor, Edgar (Patricia) Irvin, Henry (Trisha) Irvin, and Regina (Michael) Irvin Sullivan; 20 great grandchildren: Cierra Wicks, Davan Alley, Canden Vickers, Coleton Foley, Chance Foley, Grant Vickers, Haystin Vickers, Henley Vickers, Clara Manning, Ruby Manning, Cooper Minor, Makenna Minor, Benjamin Irvin, Alexander Irvin, Katlyn Irvin, Madilyn Irvin, Leah Irvin, Landon Irvin, Sara Jolynn Sullivan, and Davis Michael Sullivan.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband: Bert Davis Irvin, her second husband: John Hall, her brother: John Wormley, two sisters: Mary Carter and Minnie Hicks, her daughter: Alice Naomi Irvin, and one great granddaughter: Lucy Elizabeth Manning.

Funeral Services for Ruby Gladys (Irvin) Hall will be held Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Mike Glenn officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday June 19, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Memorial donations may be made to Dale Pentecost Church and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  She will be laid to rest in Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton following the funeral service.
