Wayne Gene Langley, 65, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
He was born July 25, 1953 in Alton, IL to Merle Edward and Helen (West) Langley. Wayne was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War and worked at the Baldwin Saw Mill for several years.
Wayne is survived by one son, Jacob (Amanda) Langley of Grantsburg, IL; three daughters: Jill Souza of Bunker Hill, IL, Sarah King of Gillespie, IL and Alisha Higgins of South Port, FL; and three sisters: Barbara Ann Smith of Lincoln, IL, Gloria Jean Butler of Springfield, IL and Helen Reynolds of Shawneetown, IL. Ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
A memorial funeral service will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Richard Malone officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. American Legion Post 106 will conduct Military Honors at the funeral home.
