Wesley J. DeHart, 62, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem, IL.
He was born October 21, 1958 in Houma, Louisiana to Gardinier L. and Ethel M. (Liner) DeHart. Wesley was a retired police officer and a member of Christian Chapel Church near McLeansboro. An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing and never met a stranger.
Wesley is survived by three sons: Brooks DeHart of Houma, LA, Dylan DeHart of McLeansboro, IL and Wesley A. DeHart of Mt. Vernon, IL; daughter Rebecca and husband Gary Foret of Belle Rive, IL; brother Mitchell DeHart of Houma, LA; four sisters: Annette Alleman, Georgiana Berger, Robbi Lee Michel and Kayla Frickey, all of Houma, LA; and his step-mother Katie DeHart of Houma, LA. Five grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives: Veronica Liner and Donna Duzan; one infant brother Rodney DeHart and one brother Shawn DeHart.
A memorial funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Chapel Church with Rev. Allen Spangler officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 30 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
