Willard Ray Bell, formerly of McLeansboro, was quietly gathered away early Friday morning, February 28, 2020 in Denton, Texas at age 103.
He was born in Ohio, Illinois on June 16, 1916 to Alexander and Lennie (Thompson) Bell. He lived most of his life in the McLeansboro area and was married to Mary Stephenson and later to Virginia Jacobs, who are both deceased and both of McLeansboro. Willard worked at the Texaco, Hoodville gas plant, and later retired as manager of the Texaco gas plant in Marietta, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his son, Stephen of Euless, Texas and two daughters, Kay Maples of McKinney, Texas and Alesia Ethington of Dallas, Texas. He has seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Mcleansboro, Illinois with Revs. Stephen Bell and Mark Byars officiating. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
He was a good man and father and will be greatly missed. We love you Dad, rest well.
