Zana Belle Wilkerson

Zana Belle (Trotter) Wilkerson, 96, of Dahlgren, IL, passed away at 9:22 a.m. February 25, 2020 at Franklin Hospital in Benton, IL

Zana was born May 22, 1923 at the home of her parents William Joseph and Mary Sophronia Trotter in Dahlgren, IL. She married George Edgar Wilkerson October 7, 1939. He died on March 9, 2007.

Zana is survived by two sons: Danny and wife Jennifer Wilkerson of Talking Rock, GA and Zane and wife Cathy Wilkerson of Colorado Springs, CO. 

She is also survived by nine grandchildren: JR Wilkerson, Veronica Henley, Scott Wilkerson, Derrick Wilkerson, Terry Wilkerson, Joseph Wilkerson, and Rebecca Wilkerson; great grandchildren: Grace Henley, Logan Wilkerson, Asher Wilkerson, Lyla Wilkerson, Zachary Wilkerson, Benjamin Wilkerson, Kasie Chenoweth, Michael Wilkerson, and Declan Bernazzani; great-great grandchildren: Andrew Wilkerson, Carter Wilkerson, Taylor Wilkerson, Khloe Chenoweth, and Kylie Chenoweth; numerous nieces and nephews.

Zana was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, son Marvin, brothers Naaman, Myles, Cecil, Lawrence, and Paul; sisters Lillie Wells and Lucille Mayberry.

Zana was a dedicated homemaker and worked alongside George farming most of their lives. Zana loved to crochet and quilt. Every grandchild and every great grandchild has one of her beautiful quilts.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren with Rev. Gary Whipple officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Dahlgren.
