I Wish...
I wish there was a way to turn back the hands of time and go back to yesterday. There would have been so many things I would've said and so many things I would have done differently. What I wouldn't give to have had all of those holiday seasons back, when my parents would plan a trip to Illinois to see my grandparents, however every year my seat sat empty because I let life get in the way. I always had some excuse, reason, or something more important to do....saying the same words every year, "I will definitely be there next year!" Of course we all know, actions speak louder than words and tomorrow is not promised. I regret not fulfilling my empty promises, and for taking this life for granted. I feel like, "How will you ever have known how much loved you, how thankful I was to you, or how much you really meant to me?" Thank you for loving my family as if we were your own. Thank you for raising a wonderful son who turned into a wonderful father. It's amazing the kind of love, dedication and devotion this family has, it is rare, and I am blessed to be apart of it. Sometimes I think maybe God sent down a special angel from heaven to save us. But now that you have done your job, He has called you home.
Thank you Father for creating a man so extraordinary as my Grandfather, who raised my hero, who I now call Dad. ❤️
