Barbara J. Mayberry

Barbara J. Mayberry, 87, formerly of Broughton, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her home in Marion, IL.

She was born March 16, 1930 in Eldorado, IL to John and Bessie (Reeder) Unthank.  Barbara married Robert D. Mayberry on January 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death.  In life she worked as a home maker and also attended the former Broughton Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Parks of Marion, IL and Connie (Paul) Keenan of Burlington, IL; three sons, Ron (Cindy) Mayberry of Belle Rive, IL, John R. Mayberry of Egg Harbor, WI and Rickey Mayberry of Hampshire, IL; two brothers, Joe Unthank and Don Unthank, both of Eldorado, IL; and four sisters, Annalee Owen of Effingham, IL, Thelma Cook of Eldorado, IL, Edith Rister of Eldorado, IL and Mary Brown of Broughton, IL.  Twelve grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. David Angelly officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Digby Hill Cemetery near Dale, IL.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Memorial donations may be made to the donors choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
