Dorothy Katherine (Durner) Freeze

Dorothy Katherine (Durner) Freeze was born June 6, 1919 in Stockville, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles and Mamie (Beals) Durner.  She departed this life January 2, 2018 at 98 years of age.

On May 12, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri, she united in marriage to Audrey Freeze.  She and Audrey had one daughter, Pamela Kay Reynolds.  Dorothy was three weeks old when her mother passed away and she was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Anie Beals.  She taught school in a one room school house for four years.  She then moved to St. Louis, Missouri and worked for Western Auto.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Pamela Kay Reynolds of McLeansboro, IL; two grandchildren, Garth Reynolds of Springfield, IL and Glenna (Ian) Hagan of Peoria, IL; a half brother, Keith Durner of Tennessee; and a half sister, Maxine Greer of Oregon.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Audrey Freeze, and a half brother, Kenneth Durner.

Funeral services for Dorothy Katherine Freeze will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Jim Peak officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  She will be laid to rest in the Ten Mile Cemetery near McLeansboro.
