Emma Dee Irvin

Emma Dee Irvin, 96, a resident of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, IL.

She was born in Broughton, IL on May 30, 1921 to Cheerful Edward and Iva (Webb) Wheeler.  A home maker in life she married Wilson Austin Irvin and he preceded her in death.  She was also a member of the Dale Pentecost Church.

Emma is survived by one son, Denzil Edward (Janice Ann) Irvin of McLeansboro, and one daughter, Deloris June (Marion) Hutcheson of Henderson, KY.  Also surviving are sister-in-law, Beverly Wheeler of Romeoville, IL; three grandchildren, Marion Hutcheson Jr., Kimberly Darr and Jason Irvin; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Hutcheson, Matthew Hutcheson, Justin Darr, Jacob Darr, Wesley Irvin and Daniel Irvin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant brother, Alfus Wheeler, brother Dallas Wheeler, and one sister, Vera Belle Irvin.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Revs. Mike Glenn and Chris Clendenin officiating.  Interment will follow at the Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton.  Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
