Peggy Jean Link

Peggy Jean Link, 86, of McLeansboro, passed away at 12:19 a.m. Monday, November 6, 2017 at Hamilton Memorial Healthcare & Rehab Center in McLeansboro.  She was born on October 18, 1931, in Eldorado, the daughter of James and Inez (Oldham) Viers.  She married Jack Elton Link. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2014.  She was a home maker.

Mrs. Link is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: David (wife Deborrah) Link of Macedonia, Mark (wife Lisa) Link of McLeansboro, and Sharon Gibbs Link, also of McLeansboro.  She is also survived by four grandchildren: Dr. Chad (wife Dr. Jamie Davison) Link of Evansville, Indiana; Adam (wife Ashley) Link, and Latricia Link, both of McLeansboro; and Levi (wife Megan) Link of Dahlgren; and six great-grandchildren: Brennan, Kathryn, and Tristan of Evansville, Indiana, and James, Michael, and Emily of McLeansboro.  One sister, Joan (husband Bob) Deitz of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, also survives.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Link; three brothers: Vernon, James, and David Viers; and three sisters: Verdela Hood, Wanda Lee Hartman and Thelma Clark. 

Services for Peggy Link will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  Interment will follow at Little Springs Cemetery near McLeansboro.  Memorials may be given to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer’s Disease Foundation and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
