Ruby E. Schell

Ruby E. Schell, 92, a resident of Dahlgren, IL, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

She was born November 7, 1924 in Burnt Prairie, IL to Joseph and Minnie (Walker) Harl.  She married Floyd Schell on February 20, 1946 and he preceded her in death.  In life she worked as a cook at the Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center and she was a member of the Dahlgren Methodist Church.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Erwin; two grandchildren, Lemuel (Shellie) Gage and Melinda Neal, all of Dahlgren, IL; four great-grandchildren, Darian Gage, Landree Gage, Clay Gage and Alexis Neal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dahlgren I.O.O.F Cemetery with the Revs. Robert Sefried and George Biby officiating.  Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
