Sweet Miss Effie will be missed by our entire family: my parents, Bob and Mary York thought of her as a good friend and neighbor in the Olive/Hull Street days; my children, William, Leigh Anna, and Stephanie and my grandchildren, Camron, Creed, and Londynn thought of her as a family member. She always had candy waiting for them. Mom and Londynn were looking forward to her moving in to Hamilton Nursing home.

My heart is saddened at Effie's death. What a beautiful woman she was, a woman of God. Such a lovely smile! She was a great friend of my mom's, Helen Chase, a valued buddy to spend time with. Now, they are together probably with lots of things to talk about. Judy, Merry and I visited with her the last time we were in McLeansboro and what I remember most was the joy she showed--a gift from God to her and from her to the rest of us. Our sympathies to her family and friends.

Effie was a wonderful lady...always kind and friendly to us when we came to McLeansboro to visit....until Effie went to live at Heritage Woods She and my Mom (Nina Johnson) called each other every day... It was a comfort to us to know that our Mom was being checked on...all of us live a distance from McLeansboro. Mom always tells me that Effie was her first dearest friend when she and my Dad moved to McLeansboro... Effie always talked so kindly about her son Jimmy Leon....I know he didn't like to be called that...but....speaking as a Mom....I found that endearing...may God bring you comfort knowing that she is now at peace and in the arms of our Heavely Father...
